About Michael's Meals
Since 2018
Fighting hunger in our community
One Person's Vision. A Community's Mission.
Michael's Meals was born from a simple, painful truth: in one of the wealthiest nations on earth, families in Dallas neighborhoods were going without. Michael Copeland saw it in his community — parents skipping meals for their children, seniors choosing between food and medicine, working families who still couldn't make ends meet.
In 2018, he founded Copeland Cares Gives Back, Inc in Dallas, Texas with a handful of volunteers and a single mission: Every Family Deserves a Christmas Meal.
Today, operating as Michael's Meals, we've served over 2,400 meals across the Dallas area, mobilized 120+ volunteers, and built partnerships with Dallas businesses, faith communities, and individuals who share our belief — that hunger is solvable, and that we are the solution.
To nourish our community with food, dignity, and hope.
We mobilize volunteers, donors, and community partners to ensure that every person — regardless of circumstance — has access to nutritious food and the support they need to thrive.

From One Meal to a Movement
Copeland Cares Gives Back, Inc is founded with 6 families and 4 volunteers.
Michael's Meals grows to serving 40 families with six volunteers.
Pandemic response — we doubled our distribution, reaching 80 families during the crisis.
Michael's Meals continues to grow and participates in many outreach programs to collect donations throughout the city to support local food pantries.
Surpassed 100 families served and launched additional community fundraising activities including the Christmas in July Charity Poker Tournament.
Through the generosity of our community and our enhanced fundraising measures, we will serve over 200 families this year.
